Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They help websites remember you, keep you logged in, and measure usage patterns.
2. Cookies We Set
Beauty Meet sets the following first-party cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or social media pixels.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
bm_session | Authentication — keeps you logged in. HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Strict. Cannot be read by JavaScript. | 30 days (or until you log out) |
bm_ref | Affiliate attribution — records which affiliate referral link brought you to the platform so the referring affiliate can receive their commission credit. Set only when you visit via a referral link (/r/CODE). | 30 days |
bm_cid | Campaign attribution — records the specific affiliate campaign that referred you, used alongside bm_ref for commission accuracy. Set only when included in a referral link. | 30 days (cleared after booking completes) |
3. Local Storage
In addition to cookies, we use your browser's localStorage (a similar local storage mechanism that is not transmitted to our servers) to improve your experience on the Explore page:
bm_saved_looks— Providers you have saved as favorites. Stored locally for convenience; never sent to our servers unless you are signed in.bm_recent_looks— Your recent browsing history on the Explore page, used to show a "Recently viewed" section.bm_geo_zip— Your last-used ZIP code for location-based search. Never transmitted without your action.bm_cookie_consent— Records that you have dismissed our cookie notice.
You can clear localStorage at any time through your browser's developer tools or by clearing your browser data.
4. What We Do Not Use
We do not use any of the following:
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Analytics SDKs (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment)
- Social media pixels (e.g., Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel)
- Cross-site behavioral tracking
- Fingerprinting or device identification
Note on the provider dashboard: The travel zone drawing tool used by beauty professionals on their dashboard loads Google Maps. Google's Maps SDK may set its own browser storage on those authenticated provider pages. This is limited to logged-in beauty professionals managing their service areas and does not affect clients or unauthenticated visitors.
5. Managing Cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that deleting bm_session will log you out. Deleting bm_ref or bm_cid will only affect affiliate commission attribution — it has no impact on your ability to use the platform.
Browser-specific guidance:
6. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce additional cookies or change how existing ones are used, we will update this page. We will never introduce advertising or tracking cookies without prominent notice.
